
SQUADS
Our competition training squads have produced some of the most competitive age group podium finishers and record holders in the region and also the country. Our comprehensive programmes allow the flexibility for all disciplines to work together and fit swim training into busy schedules.
Comet coaches are Swimming NZ accredited and have experience at both regional and national level.
We have 5 Squads:
Mini Squad • Development Squad • Teen Fit • Regional Squad • National Squad
Squad swimmers are selected from our Stroke Development programme or are assessed prior to starting, please contact us
All Squad classes take place at Kiwa Pools at the end of the 50m Pool by the big screen T.V
MINI SQUAD
1 - 3 sessions a week
1 hr each
Mini Squad is our entry level squad where swimmers will learn the essential skills for training and racing. Our young swimmers working together to achieve personal and team goals, build fitness and stamina and work on technical efficiency while developing all four strokes.
Swimmers are selected from our Stroke Development programme or are assessed prior to starting.

DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

Development Squad is for motivated swimmers who demonstrate consistency in training, have a good attitude, and are keen to swim competitively at interzonal, regional, and local meets. Swimmers work together to achieve personal and team goals, build fitness and stamina and work on technical efficiency while developing all four strokes.

TEEN FIT

Teen Fit has been developed for swimmers who aren’t interested in competitive swimming, but wish to become or remain swim fit. Swimmers are encouraged to attend our Club nights. A really fun option and great way to keep our tamariki fit and engaged.

REGIONAL SQUAD

The Regional Squad is for swimmers who are dedicated and motivated. Swimmers who demonstrate training consistency, have a good attitude, promise, and are keen to compete at national, regional and local meets. They will be introduced to more advanced technical and training elements, continue building on their fitness and stamina and work towards achieving their personal and team goals.

NATIONAL SQUAD
5 - 8 sessions per week
National Squad swimmers demonstrate outstanding training consistency, show fantastic individual and team attitude, promise, and are keen to compete at national, regional and local meets. Swimmers are expected to have a very high skill and technical level and train with purpose and drive, with a focus on competitive swimming success.
